The elevator door opens. And there stands your ideal investor. It's the chance of a lifetime. But that chance only lasts as long as the elevator ride - you have to make an impression in this time. Hopefully, you've got a well-crafted elevator pitch ready to give.
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit, 2013 will organize an elevator pitch for the benefit of shortlisted B-plan participants as well as start ups participating in the Start-up Camp; wherein they would have the opportunity to pitch before a panel of Venture Capitalists and investors.
A time of 10 minutes would be allotted to each start-up and shortlisted entry to present their idea before the panel and a time of 5 minutes for the Q & A (question-answer) session. Thus each pitch participant would have a total time of 15 minutes to impress the investors with their idea. Opportunity of a lifetime and as a startup, you are not gonna miss it, are you?

Ever wondered what it feels like to own a company? e-Monopoly gives you the perfect opportunity to do so. Different teams will purchase stakes in companies they find profitable. But be wary, there are some companies lurking on the ҧiant arenaҠwhich are operating under losses. Also, landing on a competitorӳ company would result in a heavy corporate infringement fine.
The twist in the game is the 'dynamic' bank balance maintained for every team, which would take into account the profit (or loss) of the companies purchased and the fine(s) paid to competitors among other factors (see rules). So, gear up for an exciting venture and battle it out with your market competitors to be the richest entrepreneur at the end of the game.
Object- The object of the game is to
Have the largest net worth, and
The maximum profit percentage.
Arena- The arena of above dimensions is divided into 26 cells of equal dimensions, out of which 20 cells are occupied by companies (a mix of some in profit and some in loss under the present market conditions). The remaining:
1 cell represents START
1 cell represents Prison (either a $20 billion fine to be paid or 2 chances to be missed)
1 cell represents Income Tax Raid ($20 billion to be paid)
1 cell represents Stock Market Crash ($30 billion to be paid)
2 cells each represent Community Chest and Chance.
Teams- Each team will consist of three players. At a time, there will be no more than 6 teams participating in the event.
Time ֠The game would go on for a duration of 45- 60 minutes.
The Play:
All teams will initially be given $350 billion in their bank accounts.
The game proceeds by the throw of dice (virtual). The quoted sales values of all companies are written on the corresponding cells on the arena.
A team can buy stakes of denominations 20%, 30% and 50% in the company on which it lands by paying the corresponding percentage of amount.
The profit/ loss (according to the present market conditions) will be added/subtracted to/from the bank balance on a per cycle basis.
If a team lands on a company space owned by another team (any denomination), it would have to pay a Corporate Infringement fine to the owner of that space. This fine will be 10% of the total investment of the owner(s) of the company and hence will be known to all teams.
The bank balance and the profit percentage of each team will be revealed at the end of every 2 rounds.
If during subsequent rounds of the game, a team already owning stakes in the company lands on its space when some stakes are still up for sale, it can buy further stakes in the company without having to pay the fine to the other owner (if present).
The bank balance of teams dynamic in nature and would test their knowledge about the market, with the previous purchases affecting the subsequent ones.
If a team owns stakes in more than one company, then its bank balance will be calculated, taking into account the profit/ loss of each company owned by the team.
The teams would have an option of auctioning off the stakes owned by them in any company to other teams. The auction will start from half the value of the investment of the team starting the auction. Another team willing to pay the highest price will get ownership of the stakes being sold.
The stakes can also be sold to the bank for exactly half the initial investment of the team in the company.
The move for auctioning off oneӳ stakes can be made only in the teamӳ chance. This will be made by notifying the banker about the decision.
The teams can end up in a prison for corporate fraud. They would either have to miss 2 turns or pay a fine of $20 billion.
If the teams land on the spaces corresponding to the income tax raid, they will have to pay $20 billion to proceed further.
If a team lands on the stock market crash, it loses $30 billion from its bank balance.
When a team lands on the community chest or chance, the outcome of landing on them will depend on the number that shows up on the dice and will be decided by a show of cards with pre decided outcomes.
If at any point of time, a team goes bankrupt or feels the need for funds, it can obtain a loan from the bank at an interest rate. The amount will be added to the balance of the team and has to be paid back with interest before the end of the game.
Result-
The game ends after the stipulated period of time and the final net worth and profit percentages of the teams are released in the form of a bank statement. The banker keeps a record of the balances of the teams throughout the progress of the game. All money transactions will be taken into consideration while calculating the balances. The teams with the highest net worth and the highest profit percentage win the game.

Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur in association with Vinod Gupta School of Management, presents INICIO, an innovative hands-on case study challenge. You could have a million ideas as an Entrepreneur, but they’re all worthless if you don't get them done. Few would disagree with the fact that coming up with a fully fledged business plan, with every intricate detail taken into consideration, would be a cumbersome task. Thereby, sometimes it might happen that despite of having a brilliant idea, they hesitate or are not able to do justice to the presentation of that impeccable idea to the world! But again if you're not making mistakes, then you’re not making decisions. The hardest part about being an entrepreneur is that you'll fail ten times for every success. In purview of these facts, we have come up with an event which would encourage the young minds to let their ingenuity do the talking without the much talked about hiccups. This event consists of four rounds depicting the four distinct stages which a start-up organization goes through.
FIRST ROUND:
Starting your own organization is like riding a roller coaster. There are highs and lows and every turn you take is another twist. This round would be the Start-up Stage wherein the participants will be given a case study pertaining to the issues faced by a start-up just after its inception. They are expected to come up with a strategic plan to resolve the issue in a logical and feasible manner.
SECOND ROUND:
After strategy development comes the time of managing the operational difficulties faced in increasing process efficiency, execution of market strategy, growth and development and further diversification. Possession of an insight into every minute detail as well as the ability to look at the bigger picture can be the only key that can undo the bars that become hurdles to the growth of an organization. And the same shall be judged in this round.
Every round will be eliminating in nature. After Second round, 5 teams will be selected for the finals. These teams will be invited to the campus to present their consolidated strategies. They will be judged by distinguished panel of judges consisting of academicians and industry experts.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. 2 members per team.
2. The event is open to all students from engineering & B-Schools. Both the members should be from same college/institution only.
3. A sepearate registration other than GES registration is reqired for this event.
4. Only the team leader must register on the INICIO website link given below.
5. No change in the team structure is allowed after the team is registered.
6. Any individual can be part of only one team.
7. There is no limit to the number of contestants that can participate from a particular institute.
8. The Organizing team reserves the right to modify the terms and dates of the event.
9. The decisions of the judges would be final and binding and cannot be contested upon.
10. First round Starts on 10th December, 2012
11. Accommodation will be provided to the finalist who will be coming to IIT Kharagpur.
